Exhibition identities were created based on the works in the CAC exhibition and artist research. Created in collaboration with the curator for wayfinding and tone.
BLAK ORIGIN MOMENT
Show title created for Blak Origin Moment, the first solo museum exhibition in Ohio of New York-based textile artist Noel Anderson. Blak Origin Moment asked the question, “when did you know you were black?” and created works based on people’s responses. The show also addresses police brutality and racial tensions in America.
THE ONE-EYED THIEF
Show title wall and promotional poster created for The One-Eyed Thief, the first solo museum exhibition in the United States of Berlin-based photo duo Taiyo Onorato & Nico Kreb. The One-Eyed Thief derives from Taiyo & Nico’s use of manipulating the camera’s eye to create a surreal satire of the everyday.
CAC SUPPORT PROGRAMS
Identity and print materials were created for funding programs to support the Contemporary Arts Center.
The 50
The 50 is a circle of fifty patrons that has donated enough funds to ensure free admission to the Contemporary Arts Center for at least three years. The identity was created as a minimalist monogram (TF for “The Fifty”) that can be utilized as an open, creative space—similar to The Modern Art Society.
The art print was created for the fifty patrons as a thank you for their donations to the Contemporary Arts Center.
THE WOMXN
The Womxn is a program that is devoted to building support and funding for the best, most critically inspiring female and non-binary artists working within contemporary art and culture.
Information about the program was mailed to potential members.
MODERN ART SOCIETY
In 1939, The Modern Art Society by Betty Pollak Rauh, Peggy Frank Crawford, and Rita Rentschler Cushman. After growing and moving to a dedicated space, The Modern Art Society became The Contemporary Arts Center in 1954. Honoring the past, a new legacy society was created for individuals who are committed to funding the CAC and the future of contemporary art in our community.
The identity was inspired by one of the original logos for the Modern Art Society, which was found in the CAC archives. Information about the program was mailed to potential members.
